About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Ball Bugs is an incremental defense game about turning a single bouncing ball into absolute chaos.

You start with one persistent ball, a simple lane, and a swarm of bugs trying to reach the other side. Place your ball, choose the angle, set up your defenses and start the run. Once that ball is moving, it stays in play, bouncing around the level and smashing anything unfortunate enough to cross its path.

You probably won't stop everything first time.

That's fine.

Every attempt gives you something to take back into the next one. Upgrade your setup, add ball-firing turrets and artillery, unlock new ways to deal with the swarm, then come back and see how much further you can get.

The levels start small, but they don't stay that way. New maps introduce more lanes, awkward angles, larger swarms, tougher enemies that can knock weaker balls off course, and eventually huge battles where the screen is full of ricochets, explosions and colourful bug splats.

Where you place things matters. A good launch angle can keep a ball cutting through the busiest part of a lane again and again, while the right placement for your turrets can completely change how a level plays.

Clear a level to move forward. Come back later and clear it without letting a single bug through if you want to properly master it.

And once you've worked through the campaign, you can build your own.

Ball Bugs includes a level editor for creating custom maps , letting you shape enemy routes, entrances, exits, lanes and the battlefield around them. Build something simple, make something completely ridiculous, test it with your own setup, then share it through Steam Workshop for other players to play.

Or jump into the Workshop yourself and see what everyone else has built.

Start with one ball. Keep upgrading. Make a mess.
