Turn the bottom of your screen into a small living ranch. Transparent and click-through, it stays out of the way while you work or browse. Prefer a regular window? Play it windowed or full screen with the mountain scenery and let it run.
Coat, leg and face markings, patterns, mane, eyes and hooves: all rolled for each horse, with over 160,000 possible combinations. Rarity isn't a hidden number: it shows in how a horse looks. A Common horse is plain. A Legendary one wears the rarest traits.
Foals you raise only show their coat. Their markings and rarity are revealed when they grow up.
The Marketplace offers four new horses every hour, and they arrive fully grown.
The Trait Lab unlocks new coats, eyes and manes for your future foals.
Your horses graze, move, and react in real time.
Feed them hay, apples, oats and more, keep them happy, and watch your ranch flourish.
A tidy ranch is a happy ranch. Small actions lead to steady growth.
Your horses earn coins, and happy ones earn more. Collect them, or hire someone who will.
Ranch helpers clean, groom, feed and collect coins.
Send the whole group out on a run. They drift ahead and fall back like a real pack.
Runs earn Horseshoes, which you can spend on races.
Races play out on a small track, and before you enter, a prediction screen shows whether your horse is ready.
Level up and expand your ranch, give each one a unique look with decorations from the Shop, and fill the Journal with every horse and trait you've collected.
Milestones unlock Steam achievements.
From a tiny patch of grass to a thriving ranch.
My Little Ranch lives at the bottom of your screen, or fills all of it.
A calm companion to your daily routine while you work, study or relax.
Start small.
Grow peacefully.
Build your little ranch.
Hello ranchers! This is a small update with fixes for the Ranch Helper and for food that your horses left on the ground. Thank you to the rancher who spotted the helper problem and told us about it! Ranch Helper FixesWith Collect Coins unlocked, the Ranch Helper now goes to the horse with the fullest pouch first. Before, it kept going back to the same horse, so your other horses filled their pouches, showed the coin bubble and stopped earning until you collected their coins yourself.Collect Coins now keeps working while you're dropping food. Before, the helper walked over to a horse and came back with nothing. If you empty a pouch yourself while the helper is on its way, it now moves on to its next job. Small fixesIf you groomed a horse, or clicked one with an empty pouch, while it was walking to its food, that food could stay on the ground for minutes and no other horse would eat it....
Read full update on Steam ↗Hello ranchers! This update is mostly about Transparent Mode, the mode that keeps your ranch on your desktop while you work or play. Thank you to everyone who shared ideas during Steam Next Fest: two of the changes below come straight from your comments! A meadow for Transparent ModeTransparent Mode used to hide the whole background so your desktop shows through. Now you can keep part of it: Settings has a new Background row, right below Game Scale. It shows up when Transparent is your window mode.GRASS keeps the meadow along the bottom of your ranch: the grass, the green hills and the bushes behind them. GRASS & MOUNTAINS adds the mountains too. The sky and the clouds stay hidden, so your desktop still shows above.NONE is the default and works as before: just your ranch on your desktop. When you pick a different option, the layers dissolve in or out, the same way the background does w...
Read full update on Steam ↗Hello ranchers! This update is about your first minutes on the ranch, and about giving you more to do once you've settled in. Instead of a long tutorial up front, the game now shows you things right when they matter. Thank you to everyone who played the demo and told us what tripped them up! Clickable bubblesWhen a horse needs something, a bubble appears above it. Now the bubble is also the shortcut: Hungry: picks up your pinned food so you can drop it. Ready to grow up: grows your foal up and reveals its rarity.Sick or injured: opens the Shop on Supplies.Dirty: grooms the horse. Pouch full: drops its coins. A few more bubble changes:Hover over a bubble to see what a click will do. While your cursor is on it, the bubble stays put instead of switching to the horse's next need. While you're using a Bandage or Medicine, clicking the horse's bubble works too. Once a horse is bandaged, its...
Read full update on Steam ↗Hello ranchers! This update makes horse care clearer, especially in your first minutes on the ranch. Thank you to everyone who shared feedback after the last update!Clearer suppliesSupplies like the Bandage and Medicine are used right away on a horse that needs them. Now the game guides you through it:If none of your horses needs a supply right now, the Shop tells you why instead of letting you pick a horse. For Bandages, it also explains where injuries come from. While you're using a supply, the panel tells you which horse to click: "Click an injured horse.", "Click a sick horse." and so on.When every horse is taken care of, the panel says so ("All bandaged up!").You only pay when the item is applied, so you never lose coins on a supply you can't use.A safer start for new ranchersDuring your first 5 minutes of play, runs never end in an injury. Your first horse is often your only sourc...
Read full update on Steam ↗Hello ranchers! This update is all about making My Little Ranch feel at home on every desk setup. A big thank you to the players who reported these issues. Your feedback made this update happen! Vertical (portrait) monitor supportOn a vertical monitor, the game used to scale everything by the screen's height, so your horses suddenly looked twice as big, and the ranch got squeezed into a narrow strip. The whole ranch, from the RUN sign to the barn, now always fits the width of your screen.Any extra screen height becomes sky above your ranch instead of zooming everything in.Full Screen and Transparent mode now show your ranch at the same size on the same monitor.UI Scale only offers sizes that actually fit your screen, so menus no longer get cut off on narrow screens. Better support for 16:10 and 4:3 screensThe ranch is no longer squeezed on screens narrower than 16:9.Common 16:10 resolu...
