Chika features a complex memory and emotion system, and her behavior and personality rely heavily on large language models. Running only a small local model may result in insufficient performance, missing functionality, or unstable behavior. Chika may become significantly less intelligent, produce nonsensical responses, or fail to remember things properly.

For this reason, Local AI mode uses a model with a considerably larger parameter count rather than a typical 7B model. This allows it to deliver a fully satisfactory experience while still running entirely locally.

Although extensive optimization has been done for local inference, and the game can run with as little as --- 8G --- of VRAM , the complexity of the system still results in relatively high performance requirements.
