About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Supports Japanese and Simplified Chinese text. Includes both Japanese and Chinese voice audio.

『The Guestbook of the Otherworld』 is a hot-spring horror simulation that blends horror, visual novel storytelling, and simulation gameplay.

The story takes place in a world that belongs neither to this shore nor the next — the Otherworld.

In this realm, forgotten things drift ashore and wander as tsukumogami. There, a single hot-spring inn quietly stands.

You awaken as an employee of the inn, with no memories of who you are.

You do not remember how to do your job. And yet, strangely, your body still knows how to move.

The guests who visit the inn are beings that have fulfilled their roles in the human world, been forgotten, and become tsukumogami.

Each of them carries Kegare , a sinister impurity that eats away at the soul.

By soaking in the hot springs, enjoying warm meals, and resting in peace, their Kegare gradually falls away.

But the Kegare shed by the guests does not simply disappear.

It accumulates within the inn, and each night, it manifests as supernatural horrors that come for you.

By day, tend to the inn and heal the tsukumogami

By day, your role is to welcome and care for the tsukumogami who visit the inn.

Prepare guest rooms, help with meals, manage the hot springs, and patrol the building. As you work and speak with the guests, you will gradually uncover the Kegare they carry and the pasts they left behind.

The choices you make during the day will influence the supernatural events that occur at night — and your chances of survival.

By night, survive an inn overflowing with Kegare

When night falls, the Kegare shed during the day begins to overflow throughout the inn.

Corridors stained red. Guest rooms that should be empty. The sound of water, flickering flames, and the ticking of a broken clock.

And the tsukumogami, showing faces unlike those they wore by day.

The supernatural events that occur within the inn change depending on what you did during the day.

Sometimes, helping someone may lead to salvation. Other times, an act of kindness may invite even greater danger after dark.

Experience a tense gameplay cycle that alternates between day and night. Your actions during the day affect the horrors that appear at night — and whether you survive them.

Through your interactions with the tsukumogami, uncover the story of the Otherworld and the Kegare. Your choices will change how the story unfolds — and how it ends.
