About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Pack your bag and set off with a little hiking cat. SummitJourney is a relaxing hiking sim and desktop idle game inspired by 150 real-world peaks across seven continents. Follow the trail from the forest to the snowline, with time to enjoy the view along the way.

Choose your route, bring enough supplies, and look after your hiker. The goal is to reach the summit and return safely, with stories and souvenirs for the next trip. When life gets busy, keep the journey in a corner of your desktop and check in whenever you like.

Take the scenic route

Hide the interface and settle into immersive mode. Follow your cat through forests and drifting clouds, up toward the snowline. The scenery changes with the mountain, altitude, and weather. Find a view you love, and take a photo to remember it.

Every climb starts with a packed bag

Check the altitude and estimated journey, then choose from six routes. How much food and water should you bring? What else will fit? Review your load, supplies, and risks before taking the first step.

A little rest goes a long way

Keep an eye on stamina, fullness, and mood. Eat along the way, make camp after dark, and recover before climbing on. Optional automatic feeding and night camping help you care for your hiker at your own pace.

Make the summit. Make it home.

Mark your arrival at the top, then follow the trail back down. Once safely at the foot of the mountain, look over your time, stars, and souvenirs. Another peak will be waiting when you are ready.

Someone left a little surprise

An item beside the trail. A few words for a stranger. Open a treasure left by another hiker, read their message, and perhaps find a small gift from their journey.

Leave something for the next hiker

Choose an item from your bag, write a short note, and leave it beside the path you have walked. Placing a treasure costs stamina. You can cancel before confirming, and choose exactly what you want to pass along.

Share a stretch of trail

A fellow hiker’s recorded climb may appear along your route. Walk beside their past footsteps for a while. These encounters are asynchronous, so a little company can find you even when you are not online together.

Remember who you meet

Record animal encounters in your field guide. Open an entry to see the illustration, affinity, and habitat, and get to know the creatures you might meet again on another climb.

Bring a little of the mountain home

Learn where herbs grow and what they do, then plan supplies for a future trip. Collect summit mementos with lasting bonuses, so the things you bring home can help you on the next trail.

Grow into the next climb

Spend earned funds on physical training and stars on permanent skills. Clear costs, levels, and progress help you build the abilities you need before setting out for a mountain you have been eyeing.

Dress for your next adventure

Browse the looks and outfits you have earned, and pick a favorite. Along with your growing collection and hard-earned skills, a new outfit makes this little hiker feel more like your own.

A mountain in the corner of your desktop

Keep the hiking window beside whatever you are doing. Click to unfold the panel, check your hiker, and adjust automatic care. Close the panel when you are done, and let your cat carry on along the trail.

A little company while you focus

Open the optional focus timer and choose your focus and rest periods. Start or pause whenever you need. Your desktop journey can keep you company through the day.

Ghost trails and treasures require an internet connection and contain asynchronous player content. Names and messages can be reported. Some GIFs use marked sample hikers and data; treasure discoveries do not always include a gift. Mountains, routes, and geography are stylized for the game.
