About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Serving up the best burger in town today! But not everyone in the kitchen feels the same way.

We build it together. But we don't all want the same thing.

Stack & Sus is a physics-based party game where 3-6 players stack one giant burger. When the game begins, players are secretly split into two teams: Staff and Spies. The Staff team's goal is to work together and make the dish a success. The Spy team's goal is to make the dish fail while pretending to be Staff. Everyone gathers around the same burger, but not everyone is aiming for the same result.

Customer Satisfaction Comes First

Every round, a customer places a burger order. Height, width, number of ingredient types: the criteria change from round to round. The better you stack, the higher your Customer Satisfaction climbs. Dropped ingredients and the customer's least-favorite ingredients count against you. If Satisfaction falls short of the target, the dish fails even if the burger is still standing. And the more dishes you get right, the stricter the next round's target becomes. This isn't a game where you just stack as high as you can. Meanwhile, the Spies keep an eye on the score and aim to fail by the narrowest of margins.

Buy it. Stack it. Call it out!

Each round, you head to the shopping street to stock up on ingredients and Amulets. Every ingredient you buy gets stacked onto the burger, one at a time. But none of them make it easy.

Whole Beef: extremely heavy

Plump Shrimp: springs all over the place

Cherry Tomato: round, and loves to roll

Banana Peel: dangerously slippery

Pizza and Pineapple: explode on contact

Striped Marlin, Blue Marlin and White Marlin: three look-alike brothers no one can tell apart

Stack well and you score big. Lose your balance and your hard-earned burger comes crashing down. That's exactly why who placed which ingredient, and where, becomes evidence.

It's not what they say. It's what they do.

"Was that move really just a mistake?" Every player's moves during the round can be checked afterward in the history menu. Who picked which ingredient? Where did they put it? Why didn't they act at that moment? Look back at the moves that caught your eye, and build your own case: "Doesn't that look like a Spy move?" The evidence stays on screen, so you can hold your own even if talking isn't your thing.

A failed dish isn't the end

Once the dish has failed a set number of times, it all comes down to the Suspect Vote. Think back on the shopping, the moves and the ingredients placed, and unmask the Spy hiding among you. Catch the Spy, and the Staff team pulls off a comeback win. Frame an innocent player, and the Spy team wins. If the vote is split, the Spies get one last chance: the Turnabout Quiz. The match is decided by whether the Spies can guess the Secret Satisfaction the Staff have been quietly earning.

Plenty to do in Single-player, too
