About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Little games, wherever you are

Pixel Pegz is a cozy collection of puzzle and arcade games that goes where you go. Keep it in a corner of your screen while you work, curl up with it on your Steam Deck, or play on the couch with a controller. Untangle a picture made of arrows, pour colored sand, sort stacks of hex tiles, fling squishy jelly into a pile, or split a grid into rooms, one bite-sized round at a time.

Play it your way

In the corner of your screen.  Shrink Pixel Pegz into the mini window, a little window that stays on top of your other windows, and keep a puzzle going beside your work, your stream or your show. Click away and the games with a clock or falling pieces pause on the spot; the rest simply wait for your next move. Every game sits in a little list and picks up right where you left it, and a run in progress comes along when you switch sizes. (On PC.)

On Steam Deck.  Big, readable menus and boards, made for its screen. Real-time games pause when you open the Steam menu or put your Deck to sleep, every game keeps your run, and Steam Cloud keeps your progress in step with your PC.

On the couch with a controller.  Every game, menu and shop plays with a controller, and a second player can join on the same screen. Mouse and keyboard work everywhere too.

What's in the cabinet

Puzzles

Arrows:  untangle a picture drawn in arrows. Tap one and it glides off the way it points, as long as nothing's in its way.

Square Up:  fit pieces onto the board to fill rows and columns, and watch them clear.

Hex Stacks:  set stacks of colored hex tiles on the board. Matching colors slide together, and a tall enough stack of one color clears in a pop.

Floor Plan:  split the grid into rooms, each number telling you how many cells its room has. Every puzzle has exactly one answer.

Dot to Dot:  draw one path that fills the whole grid, passing the numbered dots in order. Every puzzle has exactly one answer.

And more:  slide blocks out of Gridlock, match shapes in Shape Swap, set off merging chains in Tile Cascade, paint mazes in Grid Roller and guess five-letter words in Guesswork.

Arcade

Sandfall:  drop blocks of colored sand that crumble and pour as they land. Fill a band of one color from wall to wall and it washes away.

Jelly:  fling wobbly number blobs into the pile. Two of a number that touch squish together into the next one up.

Chip Away:  aim and fire a stream of balls at the numbered blocks before they reach the floor, picking up upgrades along the way.

Peg Pop:  time your drop and watch the ball bounce down through the pegs. Hit enough gold pegs to clear the level, with lightning, portals and multiball to help.

Sneaky Sneks:  slither around a big arena eating glowing food, and grow into the biggest baddest snek there.

And a few old favorites  for a quick round, on your own or with a friend.

Play at your own pace

Many of the games have a  Journey : a path of levels, each one the same for every player. Miss a level and it simply plays again. The level you've reached never goes backwards. The Journeys in Dot to Dot, Floor Plan, Gridlock and Grid Roller have no clock and no move limit, so you can take all the time you like.

Every game also has Easy, Medium and Hard, and Easy is gentle: small, friendly pieces that always fit in Square Up, slow and relaxed sand in Sandfall, and bots in Sneaky Sneks that mostly mind their own business. Stuck? In some games you can spend a few coins on a hint, or take your last move back.

Leave whenever you like. Every game keeps your run, so you can pick up right where you left off.

A little puzzle every day

The Daily Challenge deals a short run of games once a day, the same for everyone in the world. Play them with your coffee, keep your streak going, and see how your day compares with everyone else's.

Make it yours

Every game you play earns coins. Spend them on color palettes, from soft Sugar Plum to Warm Autumn Glow, and the whole cabinet changes with them: menus, boards and pieces. Try any palette on before you buy it. There are looks to collect too: balls and trails for Peg Pop and Chip Away, blobs for Jelly, tile styles, game cards and cursors. If you love the original game colors, Classic Game Colors keeps them while the palette dresses everything else.

Better together

Two players can share one screen. Team up in Tag Team Remix, taking turns stage by stage with three hearts between you, or face the very same deal in a Same Deal Duel. Pass one controller back and forth, or use one each. With Remote Play Together, a friend can join from their own PC.

When you want a little challenge

Every game plays for score too. Win bronze, silver and gold medals on each difficulty, climb the Steam leaderboards, and try Remix, which deals a random game every stage with a goal to reach before the next one. Your Player Level grows with everything you play.
