Lead a Stone Age people. Every one of them is real.
CivEconomy is a strategy game about a tribe at the edge of history. You are its leader. You decide where the hands go, what the people learn, what is built and when to fight. They live with the result.
People with names, ages and families. Food counted in calories, sickness that comes with the seasons, tools that take real work and real knowledge to make. Nothing is invented for free, and every number answers "why?".
A WORLD YOU WALK, CLAIM AND BUILD ON
- A living 3D world. Generated maps from Small to Huge, with rivers, forests, game and deposits. Fog of war: you only know what your people have seen.
- Seasons that matter. Rivers rise in spring and freeze in a hard winter. Nobody explores in deep winter. Nobody marches with the harvest still standing.
- The village is real work. Choose where the hearth stands, then enter the village and build it: huts, stores, workshops, a palisade, a gate, a watchtower. Every work needs materials and hands, and the woods come down tree by tree.
AN ECONOMY THAT RUNS ON ITS OWN RULES
- From stone to steel. Fields, salt works, mines, the smelter and the forge. Each step needs what came before and someone who knows how.
- Trade emerges. What a good is worth comes from who needs it. A currency can appear on its own.
- Health and food are one system. A hungry people gets sick. A sick people works less. A short harvest is felt for years.
NEIGHBOURS AS REAL AS YOU
The other peoples are simulated by the same rules: they farm, trade, learn, pray and raid. Send gifts, make peace, hold a grudge. War bands are named warriors, and they remember. Difficulty comes from the world you pick, never from an AI that cheats.
FIGHT IT YOURSELF
When a raid comes, open the battle and command it in real time on the ground where it happens: your palisade, your gate, the river and its fords. Warriors, spearmen, skirmishers and archers, dressed in the age of their arms. Whoever falls on the field is gone from the village for good. Or let it be decided, after reading the odds.
NO VICTORY SCREEN
Twenty-two deeds your people may be remembered for. Named ages. Reigns that end, a leader who can be deposed, an Exodus when all is lost. Do five of the eight great deeds and the story of your people is told. Then go on.
LEARNING TO READ IT
A short opening tour, first-time tips, a Council that tells you what is wrong, and an Elder you can ask in your own words ("how do I get copper?"). Hover any value to see what it is made of.
EARLY ACCESS: THE NEXT WEEKS ARE YOURS
This is the first 3D version of CivEconomy, and we are shaping it with the people who play it. Join our Discord and tell us what is confusing, what is missing and what you would change first. In the coming weeks we are working from what players ask for.

HONEST NOTES
- The 3D update replaces the old 2D, text-driven game. Typed commands are gone: everything is a click now.
- Saves from the 2D game do not load in 3D. The 2D game stays playable on the Steam branch legacy-2d (Properties, Betas).
- English only for now. Portuguese is coming.
- No AI runs while you play. The AI disclosure below lists the pre-generated content.

CivEconomy is 3D now. Same game underneath: a Stone Age people where every person is counted, every calorie is real and nothing comes for free. What changed is everything around it. Your tribe now lives on a 3D world of hexes you walk, claim and build on, next to other peoples who live by the same rules. Everyone who owns CivEconomy gets it today. What's new - A living world: generated maps, rivers, forests, fog of war, and seasons that matter. - The village: pick where it stands, walk in and build it. Huts, stores, workshops, a palisade, a gate, a watchtower. - The economy: food in calories, health and disease, farming, salt, from stone to steel. Trade appears on its own. - Other peoples: they farm, trade, pray and raid by your rules. Gifts, peace, grudges, raids and sieges. - The battle: when a raid comes, fight it yourself in real time, or let it be decided. - The story: story card...
Read full update on Steam ↗27 Steam achievements. Every Legacy feat in the Chronicle (22) is now also a Steam achievement, plus 5 milestones: *The Elder's Counsel* (finish the tutorial), *First Blood* (drive off your first raid), *The Faithful* (found a religion), *Age of Bronze* and *The Second Reign* (survive an exodus and rule again). Already earned it? You keep it. Feats your saves already recorded unlock the first time you load them with Steam running. Single-player only. The Chronicle's Legacy section now also lists the milestones, and the Game Guide has a new "Legacy & Steam achievements" entry. Save format unchanged (v13) — your saves keep working.
Read full update on Steam ↗The biggest update yet: the darker tools of rule, land and trade that finally matter, and one Wisdom panel where you can always find everything your tribe learns — including where to put people to study seeds and crops. ⚠ Save format → 13. Older saves cannot be loaded (pre-launch, no migration). Start a fresh reign. DOCTRINES OF BLOOD — edicts, rites and a darker war - Edicts that really do something. Founding a religion now hands you its edicts and rites as clickable chips in the Council. - Sacred Fast — the tribe eats less for three seasons (your stores last longer), at the price of more sickness. - Sacred Duty of Labor — children and elders work far harder for four seasons, and more of them die of it. - Both show a countdown badge next to the date, lift on their own, and cost Standing while they last. A strong faith cushions the blow; a collapsed one makes it worse. - Two new rites...
Read full update on Steam ↗Difficulty settings, season events, rivals that learn from you, and an Elder who answers your questions — without ever costing you a season. This is the biggest update since the Copper and Bronze Ages arrived. It is built around three ideas: the game should respect your time, the mid and late game should keep surprising you, and your rivals should feel like people, not spreadsheets.- Ask the ElderStuck? Just ask. Type a plain question in the Council or the Game Guide — "how do I get copper?", "why can't I make steel?", "what should I do now?" — in English or Portuguese, and the Elder walks you through it step by step: what you already know, what you are teaching, what is still locked and why (missing prerequisite, no specialist, no ore within reach). Every answer comes with clickable next steps. The answer is computed from the real tech tree and your real geology, so it is always true f...
Read full update on Steam ↗AI setup on Windows works again. In v0.4.2 the AI install could die with a bare "ERROR: Exception:" — pip on Windows reads its lockfiles with the system ANSI code page and choked on a single non-ASCII character. Lockfiles are now pure ASCII and the installer runs in UTF-8 mode. This affected both CPU and GPU installs, so if the AI council or chieftain portraits were silently unavailable for you, this is the fix. New AI Launcher. A small window now opens on every launch, health-checks the AI engines, installs anything missing, and waits for you to hit Play. If something is off you get a per-component Fix menu (Repair / Reinstall CPU / Reinstall GPU / Clean reinstall), plus Repair missing, Reset AI install and Open log folder. You can also pick GPU or CPU explicitly and the choice is remembered. If a component still won't install you can Play anyway — the button tells you exactly what's...
Read full update on Steam ↗If your game got stuck on "Verifying installed components..." or the AI features (Council, Chieftain Portrait) silently didn't work in v0.4.1, this update fixes it. Thanks to everyone who reported it in Discussions. FIXED - Setup screen froze on "Verifying installed components...". A component that connects the setup window to the game engine failed to load in v0.4.1. The window never received progress and the Try Again / Play / Quit buttons didn't respond. This affected every player on the 20/09 build. - AI features silently unavailable in-game. Same root cause. The Council, Chieftain Portrait and the AI Engines indicator work correctly again. - Setup errors are now written to the session log, so if anything like this happens again we can see exactly why. NEW: GPU-ACCELERATED PORTRAITS ON WINDOWS (NVIDIA) The Chieftain Portrait engine now runs on your NVIDIA GPU instead of the CPU wh...
