Cloudbreaker is a roguelite survivors-like where you explore a sky-world, defeating hordes of enemies. Upgrade and optimize your arsenal with an inventory management puzzle system . Unlock and upgrade airships , each with its own unique layout, abilities, and strategies, to grow your power over time.
Explore & Survive:
Delve down through the clouds into a sky-world rife with danger and riches. Discover ruins filled with scrap, relics, and resources to power up your ship. Survive against hordes of Biotes ; the lingering biotech experiments of past civilizations. Defeat bosses to break through cloud layers and descend deeper into the depths of the sky.
Upgrade:
To survive , you must carefully upgrade your ship to contend with increasing dangers as you descend. Defeating Biotes earns you Bloil that your ship converts into Engine Parts . These Engine Parts can be installed in your Engine Grid : an inventory management puzzle system.
Optimize:
Placement of Engine Parts is key. Each Engine Part interacts with the grid in unique ways, creating powerful synergies . This forces you to carefully consider where each new part is installed, and plan your build accordingly. Weapons also have their own upgrade trees , redefining how they function, adding another layer of depth to your build.
Thrive:
Your power grows over time as you unlock new parts and airships . Each ship has its own unique Engine Grid layout, and abilities, that lend themselves to new strategies and builds.
As you progress, you will customize each ship by powering its upgrade tree, tailoring it to your particular playstyle

The Socket Array now opens locked sockets it is placed over, for as long as it stays there. Take the array away and they lock again. Bug Fixes: Fixed Mirror Link multiplying a network chain's boosts once for every part in the chain. Tesla Coils could reach cooldowns that showed as 0s, and Repulsors could grow larger than the screen and one-shot bosses. Build 1.0.4 Balance: Stopped the Firing Line slowing and shrinking parts that face away from it. The Shield now only gets 0.5 chained boost to its regen speed. Healing and Bloil islands now keep being tracked once discovered, no matter how far away you get. Bug Fixes: Fixed parts being thrown away from the cursor when rotated while the mouse was moving. The error added up over repeated rotations, and at the edge of the screen it could leave a part sitting far from the cursor with nowhere to drop it. Fixed the upgrading tutorial locking up if you selected a part again before the upgrade drawer had finished sliding open. Fixed chained Shields regenerating far faster than their tooltip said, which made a chain of three or four of them close to unkillable. Build 1.0.2We've been busy this week working on bug fixes and requested features. A few of the biggest requests were for improved performance and better high-resolution support.In response, we implemented major optimizations across the game, specifically targeting Steam Deck performance. We're happy to report that the game now runs at a solid 60 FPS on the Deck, with only occasional dips into the 50s. We are still setting this to 30 FPS by default to be on the safe side, and ensure you have no frame rate drops. However if you want Cloudbreaker as smooth as possible, and accept the occasional dip towards the end of a run, you can set this to 60 in the options menu.We also reworked the Crisp display mode and made it the default setting, ensuring the game looks sharp on larger screens.Finally, we changed analytics from opt-out to opt-in.
