A modernized old-school boomer shooter with progression, upgrades and a gory combat system. Fight in a dark Byzantine-Gothic setting, gain experience, upgrade your weapons, create a build and become a true Varangian berserker.
Fast and gory combat - Move, shoot, cut enemies down up close and keep the pace high as foes burst into chunks of meat.
Progression and upgrades - Gain experience, choose upgrades, create a build from 20+ upgrades, unlock alt-fire and shape your own playstyle.

WARAG - Release Date Update
WARAG - Release Date UpdateDear friends!I had to move WARAG’s release date to a later date for various reasons. I want to make a truly great boomershooter with its own identity, interesting levels, and unique mechanics. Releasing an unfinished or unpolished game is not something I want to do, so I decided to postpone the release.WARAG will definitely be released in 2026!There is also a chance that the game will be released earlier than the currently announced date. I’ll do my best to release it as soon as possible while making sure it is in a great state.Right now, I’m working on new weapons, enemies, levels, and various visual improvements. There is still a lot to do, but development is moving forward.Thank you for your patience and support!

The final demo version is out:New engine, now UZDoom instead of VKDoom.The game now has a more distinct identity.Weapons are now fully 3D models with impact effects and new sounds, instead of just sprites.Bugs have been fixed.Added support for older hardware thanks to the move to UZDoom Some levels have been redesigned. In the future, only critical bugs will be fixed. Further emphasis will be shifted to the final version, which will be released in 2026.

The time has come for a major update, timed to coincide with WARAG’s participation in the Boomstock 2025 festival. This is not just an update-it’s a complete conversion of the entire game!For various reasons, I wasn’t able to implement everything I had planned, from fixing all the bugs to adding new animations. Nevertheless, this demo version will serve as a starting point for further improvements to the game. Instead of an early access release, I will be regularly updating and refining this very demo version.But even now, you can try it out and get a sense of the direction WARAG’s development is heading! Huge thanks for any feedback!
