About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Lindenhof School. At night. And it knows what you did.

Veiled Whispers is a first-person psychological horror game set in a single hand-built location: the ground floor of a German school at night. It does more than make you run. It plays with you: rules you have to obey. An exam about your own sister. Voices on the PA that lie. A corridor that repeats. And a choir singing inside the air vents.

Two stories. The same school. Other nights.

I · Lena (present day, 8 chapters) Lena, 12, has been missing for 23 days. On her last afternoon she called Kim, her older sibling. Kim declined the call: “Stop being so dramatic.” Now Kim is locked inside the school at night. A man in a cloth mask walks the corridors, and the school wants Kim to remember.

II · Linden Sparrows (December 1979, 4 chapters) After the dress rehearsal, the seven children of the school choir vanished. No one ever found them. Until three weeks ago, Jakob was the eighth singer, then his voice broke. Tonight, seven voices sing a scale beneath his window. The footprints in the snow lead to the school. Every child is a note. Strike the choirmaster's tuning fork and they answer. Not only them.

What awaits you

Psychological horror, not a constant chase: The stalker makes rounds. First the warning, then twenty seconds to hide. Hold your breath in the locker while he stands outside and listens.

Every chapter plays differently: school rules that are deadly serious. Announcements where one voice lies. An endless corridor with 19 anomalies. Hide-and-seek with a dead boy. An instant camera that shows what no one wants to see. A choir whose silence you must not walk through. A piano on which you play the last verse.

The game lies to you: fake death screens, objectives that give you orders, footsteps that copy your own, false choices with only one answer, and whispers right behind your ear.

Choices that matter: Do you face the truth or bury it? Seven endings across two stories, some only for those who were honest.

PS1 atmosphere: retro visuals with dithering, a flashlight, fog and flickering light. Every sound, voice and the children's choir is synthesized specifically for the game.

Fully available in English and German.

Content notice: loss, guilt, bullying, disappearance and death of children (implied), jump scares, flickering lights.
