About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

A Proper British Platforming Adventure

The brochure said "tropical paradise". Then the coach driver dropped Biffo at the edge of a jungle and drove off whistling.

Still, there's a silver lining. The Thirsty Toucan has twenty bars dotted round this jungle, and a stamp from every one fills the loyalty card. Free pints. For life. Biffo's seventy, his knees are shot and his slippers weren't made for this, but a man has to have priorities.

A bottle, three caps and a lot of fizz

Swing the bottle at spiders, gnomes and anything else that looks at you funny.

Flick bottle caps at things you'd rather not get close to. You've three, and they come back.

Shake the pint for a fizz-powered double jump. It refills when you land.

Bum-slide under danger and bowl over anything in the way. Dignity optional.

Four worlds, twenty levels

From the lush Mossy Hollow to the crunchy leaves of Amber Woods , the pitch-black Moonshade Thicket and the absolutely brass monkeys Frostfern Forest . Each world brings its own tricks, then mixes them with the old ones:

Crumbling rope bridges, swinging spiked logs and runaway keg carts

Falling conkers, icicles and geysers

Blinking fairy toadstools, snapping flytraps and gusts that shove you about

Slippery ice that takes your feet (and your dignity) out from under you

Cracked walls hiding secret beer stashes for the nosy

Gorillas with grudges

Every world ends at a bar guarded by a very large gorilla who doesn't want you there. Learn their punches, swats and ground-pounding slams, then show them who's buying the next round.

Pub Crawl: the roguelike mode

Fancy a night out? The jungle's got more pubs than anyone can count. Pub Crawl is an endless roguelike, open from the start: every run strings together fresh floors from the story's hand-made sections, each one ending at a different pub (The Laughing Kipper, The Sozzled Walrus...). How far can one pensioner get?

Order a round at every pub: pick one of three, like Pork Scratchings (an extra pint glass), Double Measure (an extra fizz jump) or Beer Goggles (beers float over to you). Eleven in all, and most of them stack.

Pints carry over from floor to floor and there are no checkpoints. One sit-down and it's chucking-out time.

House rules like Last Orders , Lights Out and Icy Reception shake up a floor, for bonus points

A gorilla every fifth floor, angrier every time, and rowdier critters the deeper you go

The Daily Special : the same floors, house rules and rounds for everyone today. Have as many goes as you like, then see where you landed on the Steam leaderboards.

For the completionists

Bottles of ale tucked into every corner of every level

Three stars per level: reach the bar, find every beer, and find all three golden bottles

Three golden bottles hidden in every level, and 34 Steam achievements

Hardcore mode : one sit-down and your loyalty card gets torn in half. Back to 1-1.

Play it your way

Full controller support with Xbox and PlayStation button prompts, or keyboard and mouse

Rebind every control

Three difficulties and three save slots

In English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish and Russian

Slippers on. Let's 'ave it.
