About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger is one of the most iconic games of the 1990s. Featuring Mark Hamill, John-Rhys Davies, Malcolm McDowell, and Tom Wilson, Wing Commander III is widely regarded as the game which defined interactive storytelling and cinematic presentation.

Now celebrated in this special 30th Anniversary Edition, the game has been restored in collaboration with the dedicated Wing Commander community to deliver a must-see experience.

30th Anniversary Edition key improvements:

Source Master FMVs - In 2022, the Source Master tapes were discovered in the EA physical media vault. These tapes have been digitized and meticulously re-edited frame-by-frame to restore the over 900 FMV scenes, and integrate them back into the game.

Upscaled FMVs - As an optional enhancement, the FMVs have been further elevated to sharper quality using the latest in video upscaling technology for the best Wing Commander III cinematics ever seen.

The Kilrathi Saga - The coveted Kilrathi Saga version of Wing Commander III comes integrated directly with this installation, for the first time ever available as a digital release. The Kilrathi Saga provides digital music and sound, a re-orchestrated soundtrack, and optional drop-away cockpit support

Enhancement Patch Integration - Bundled with the incredible Wing Commander III Enhancement Patch built by the Wing Commander community, offering features like 60 FPS gameplay, the higher resolution FMVs, advanced levels of detail, improved controller / joystick support, cockpit configuration for widescreen monitors, reintegrated scenes to PC (News Reels, Hobbes, Planets), and more

- Bonus extras including cast interviews, manuals, reference cards, player guides, and more

- Full VO and subtitles across English, French, and German

- Cloud Saves

This 30th Anniversary Edition is the ultimate way to enjoy one of the most important franchises in gaming history.
