Chess chooses the landing square. You draw the way there.
A monster blocks the exit; a chest sits off to the side. Play a chess-piece card to choose where you may land, then draw a route within a limited number of steps. The same card can take you past danger, through a fight, or toward loot.
Find gear. Set off a chain reaction.
Equipment changes how this run plays. Pick your moment to attack: a hit or kill can trigger more items, turning one move into a chain. When it works, the monster you meant to dodge becomes an opening.
Keep an eye on the light.
Some wraiths cannot be killed in shadow, but sunlight turns them into chests. Watch the terrain, your cards, and the approaching monsters as you make for the exit. Deeper in, visual tricks hide paths through seemingly impossible rooms.
Chess tells you where you can land. The path is yours.

This update brings together the changes since the September 10 build, focusing on visuals, clearer controls and information, and more ways to develop your build. VISUALS AND PRESENTATION • Updated characters, enemies, chests, doors, equipment icons and cards with a unified hand-drawn style using rough ink, worn paper and stone textures. • Reworked pieces as physical standees with thickness, front and back faces, and solid bases. Adjusted stone tiles, cliffs, cavern scenery and board composition, and removed old background decorations that obscured the view. • Redesigned the paper surfaces and layouts for your hand, inventory, loot, route selection and furnace, making card types, equipment slots and key buttons easier to distinguish. • Reworked chest shaking, opening, card emergence and settling, and improved fusion, engraving, equipment activation and reward-flight presentation.
