There's a lot of games that deserve praise but never receive it. Last year's Öoo should have been the indie sensation that Animal Well was. Prey (2017) should have had the same worldwide acclaim for its technical wizardry as Tears of the Kingdom did. And Fallout 76 has managed a comeback of Cyberpunk 2077 proportions. The MMORPG got off to a terrible start, with dull gameplay and severe bugs. The game crashed all the time, there were no NPCs, and the endgame was downright awful. Fallout 76's latest patch is following up the addition of fishing in the only way that's natural. Bethesda have opted to revamp its base building mechanics in an effort to make thing easier for newbies and offer veterans some extra freedom to stick huge shacks full of stuff together in different ways. For Patch 62, dubbed 'C.A.M.P revamp', menus have been rejigged and placement restrictions relaxed in an effort to have you spend 60 more hours slapping bits of wood into accomodation, rather than going off and ruining some super mutant's day. Then again, I can't imagine the green folks are too happy about the wasteland being turned into a showroom of properties that'd probably cost several million quid despite the fact they can barely keep the radiation out, such are modern house prices. Try not to get irradiated. That's a piece of general life advice for you, free of charge. But those aren't always words of wisdom in Fallout 76. In Bethesda's online RPG, radiation poisoning can lead to desirable mutations which provide your character with buffs. It's not like that in the real world, so don't get any ideas. This is why players were bothered when the gamma gun stopped irradiating them, as it was one of the most consistent ways of guaranteeing yourself a roll on the old mutation roulette. Hey Everyone, We wanted to give you a quick update on the status of the Holiday Scorched event. As a response to reports from players that they were not receiving gifts, we increased the spawn rate of the Festive Scorched so that players would receive more Legendary loot. Unfortunately, this increase of spawn rate had adverse effects on other parts of the game. Earlier today we reverted the spawn rate of the Festive Scorched back to normal. Due to the Holiday Scorched event not providing enough gifts, we have decided to deactivate the event starting tomorrow, December 19 @ 12 PM ET. Please use this time today to wrap up any remaining challenges you may have. That being said, the holiday festivities will not be STOPPED!
